I like three things
First the sun,
then the moon, and the school.
The sun for the day,
the moon for the night,
the school forever.
Some like Sundays,
Some like Mondays,
But I like school days.

- Welcome to the Blog for the Maitreya Education Project. The Project provides free education to village children from poor families in northern India. The unique curriculum, emphasising ethical development as well as academic achievement, covers primary, secondary and vocational education. In Bodhgaya, the place of the Buddha's enlightenment in Bihar state, the Maitreya Universal Education School teaches 400 pupils from Kindergarten to completion of Class 10 Matriculation. In Kushinagar, the place where the Buddha passed away in Uttar Pradesh state, similar schools will be built.
