Hello! Thank you for checking out the first Blog for the Maitreya Education Project. We will be bringing you news about the school in Bodhgaya, India, along with updates on the school to be built in Kushinagar, India. We will also post notes from the students attending the school, for whom English is a second language, so that you can get a more intimate view of life at the school and in Bodhgaya.

Latest News - As the school is solely funded by donation, we have implemented an exciting new method to raise funds online - please check out our First Giving site, where you can sign up to sponsor a fundraiser for the school. - Welcome to the Blog for the Maitreya Education Project. The Project provides free education to village children from poor families in northern India. The unique curriculum, emphasising ethical development as well as academic achievement, covers primary, secondary and vocational education. In Bodhgaya, the place of the Buddha's enlightenment in Bihar state, the Maitreya Universal Education School teaches 400 pupils from Kindergarten to completion of Class 10 Matriculation. In Kushinagar, the place where the Buddha passed away in Uttar Pradesh state, similar schools will be built.
